Trattore Farms opens a tasting room in the Plaza

Trattore Farms, located in the upper Dry Creek Valley, has opened a second tasting room in downtown Healdsburg at 320 Center St.

Places are limited and reservations are recommended, but visits are welcome. The tasting room is open from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily. To reserve: or 707-431-7200.

The Trattore Farms and Dry Creek Olive Oil Co. estate is located at 7878 Dry Creek Road in Geyserville. Hours are 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday through Monday.


Salmon barbecue to fund a salmon group

The Golden State Salmon Association will host two summer salmon barbecues on July 23 at the William Tell House restaurant, featuring grilled, fresh-caught California king salmon and seasonal sides.

Proceeds will support the charity’s work to restore salmon, especially during drought. The Golden State Salmon Association is a coalition of salmon advocates whose mission is to restore California salmon to their economic, recreational, commercial, environmental, cultural and health values.

Seating will be at noon and 4 p.m. Tickets are $100 ($50 for children under 12). Wine and beer are included in the ticket price, and there will be cocktails for purchase. Everyone will have smoked salmon to take home.

Tierra Vegetables celebrates its 40th anniversary

Tierra Vegetables, a diverse family farm that the sister/brother team of Lee and Wayne James started in 1980, has been patiently waiting two years to celebrate its 40th anniversary.

The farm, which grows hundreds of vegetables sustainably, will be hosting a 40th anniversary party (plus two years) from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on August 7 at the farm, 651 Airport Blvd. The public is invited to celebrate with CSA members and long-time customers.

The open farm event will feature games like wheelbarrow races, live music and farm tours. Chefs from across the Bay Area will be creating small bites from Tierra Vegetable’s harvest. Local wines and cider will be on the menu.

Bombay Sapphire and boon host a cocktail party

Chef Crista Luedtke will host a five-course dinner featuring dishes from local chefs such as Duskie Estes of Farm to Pantry and Domenica Catelli of Catelli’s on Saturday at boon hotel + spa.

The dinner will showcase local produce and cocktails from local mixologists from The Matheson, Fern Bar, Barndiva and other locations. The guest speaker will be Anne Brock, Master Distiller of Bombay Sapphire.

Dinner tickets include service and drinks. $275 per person, with proceeds going to the non-profit Farm to Pantry. Doors open at 5 p.m. for aperitif; dinner is from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Add a Bombay gin tasting at 1 p.m. for $10 at check-out. Tickets at Boon hotel + spa is located at 14711 Armstrong Woods Road.
