OMRAN group concludes interview and evaluation phase of ‘Midhyaf’ program I Times of Oman

Muscat: Following the remarkable participation of the ‘Midhyaf’ program in the registration phase with 2,031 applicants, Oman Tourism Development Company (OMRAN Group), the executive branch of the Sultanate for tourism development, concluded the interviews and the program evaluation at the Oman Convention. and Exhibition Center. In the coming weeks, 300 people will be nominated for the final evaluation phase, and will thus select 148 talents to join the training program at the Oman Tourism College (OTC) in early September. Upon completion of the OTC training, participants will have the opportunity to start on-the-job training at various OMRAN Group hotels.

As part of its efforts to provide professional training experiences that meet international standards for participants of the “Midhyaf” program, Oman Tourism College recently signed a memorandum of understanding with the British Butler Institute and a training agreement with ZADK Culinary Academy, aimed at implementing intensive training courses in the specialist areas covered by the program, including cooking, food and beverage, front desk operations, hotel operations management, accounting and procurement, sales and marketing and housekeeping.

There was great interest in the assessment and interview phase, and applicants for various degrees including general education degrees, university degrees and bachelor’s degrees, showed their enthusiasm to participate in the “Midhyaf” program and to participate in the program. compete for various jobs in the hospitality industry. Job interviews were conducted and organized by the human resources teams of the OMRAN Group and the Oman Tourism College, in the presence of hotel managers from participating hotels, and under the supervision of the Ministry of Labor.

The “Midhyaf” program, which was launched by the OMRAN group, is part of the initiative of the Oman Investment Authority which aims to create more than 4,800 jobs and training opportunities in its owned companies, by cooperation with the Ministry of Labor. The “Midhyaf” on-the-job training program is seen as a sustainable platform for the development of national executives in various properties of OMRAN Group, giving Omani talents the opportunity to lead the tourism sector of the Sultanate and to to advance it towards wider horizons.
