Kimpton Sydney adopts Margot as local business name

The upcoming debut of the Kimpton brand in Sydney will see the hotel adopt “Margot” as its local operating name in accordance with its brand standards, which see each hotel adopt a unique identity and visual representation.

Located in the former Sydney Water Board building on Pitt Street in Sydney’s CBD, Kimpton Margot Sydney will be committed to fostering “genuine people-to-people relationships by encouraging authenticity” and genuine service. True to the hallmarks of the Kimpton brand, the hotel will be both human and pet friendly. Nightly Social Time will also invite guests to gather to mingle and socialize in an elegant setting with canapes and refreshments.

A number of executive appointments, including a chief executive, are yet to come, but the hotel has revealed that Adam Leonard will take on the role of director of sales and marketing. The very experienced Leonard has spent the past three years in a similar role at the InterContinental Hayman Island Resort.

Further appointments will see Kenza Sebti appointed director of rooms and Tammy McGregor as director of restaurants and bars. Sebti returns to the Kimpton brand to add to his five years as a team member earlier in his career, while McGregor moves to Sydney after spending five years at the Kimpton Seafire Resort and Spa in the Cayman Islands.

The hotel has also hired Jane Thai as the Director of People and Culture; Jorge Tayag as director of engineering; Simon McAllister as Senior Sous Chef and Christopher Shannon as Restaurant and Bar Manager.

Pro-invest Group COO Shantha de Silva said the appointment of Adam Leonard was an important decision as the hotel prepares for its opening in January.

Luke’s Kitchen will offer a warm, home-style menu developed by Luke Mangan.
