Aimee Mann announces new LP, ‘Queens of the Summer Hotel’

Aimee Mann has announced a new album. On November 5, the singer / songwriter will be released Queens of the summer hotel Going through On me. The album includes songs written for a theatrical adaptation of Girl, Interrupted by Susannah Kaysen. The first single is called “Suicide is Murder”. Listen to it below.

“I started writing this song because I have known people who have committed suicide and friends whose loved ones have died by suicide,” Mann said in a press release. “I think the phrase ‘suicide is murder’ has taken on meaning for me because it is the worst thing to face afterwards. It’s just awful. Because anyone who knows the person who killed themselves will somehow blame themselves for not noticing, intervening, or not doing something. They go to the end of their days, say, ‘Could I have done something?’ ”

Mann also put on a handful of shows this fall. Check out those dates below.
